L ionel Messi paid tributes to the iconic Argentine footballer, Diego Maradona on his death anniversary on 25th November. The great man died from a heart attack on November 25, , at the age of 60, in a rented home just outside Buenos Aires.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Maradona is best remembered for leading Argentina to victory in the World Cup; he accounted for five goals and five assists and went on to win the Golden Ball for his magnificent performances. His coaching stint ended with Argentina's defeat to Germany in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. Maradona played for many top clubs, but mostly memorable were those moments with Napoli, since the majority of his years belong to Naples-based club.

During that period, he scored goals and made 74 assists in games, including two Serie A titles for the club. This is one of the debates many football enthusiasts still argue, regarding who has left greater legacy for Argentina: Maradona or Messi. Both of them, however, will always be celebrated for their magical contributions to the sport.
