It was a great experience. Although Flynn studied the biography, Sgt. Morales is in fact fictitious. The club was established in for the ranks of corporal through sergeant first class. Its board convenes quarterly. Candidates must appear before several selection boards made up of sergeants major and current club members. To be inducted, an NCO must be approved by every member of the selection board.
Flynn said his own sergeant major played a big role in his studying for the board appearances.
